It's not a good week for local-on sale dvd media.
Best Buy has the only good deal that I could find: 50 pack spindles of 16x +r media for $14.99

Staple's has a piss-poor sale with 50 pack playo's for $12.94. The plus format are made by AML and are pretty low quality. Too much $ for this crap media.$4 a spindle is more like it, LOL
Office depot doesn't have squat! UGGH!
Anybody else finding some good prices,just add to the thread!

I'm just trying to save all the peeps who get new DVD-RW drives for christmas, some money. I've stocked up on OD/Verbatim/and sony yudens,but I can't pass up a good deal!

Wow, thats a goodass deal, I love u man, can u just tell me the manufacturer for those verbs?? MCC? Yuden? Maxell? And are they made in Japan or not? Are they really nice? Have u tried em yet? I hope its a good one...I'll probably buy those today or tommorow.

The Best Buy Discs on Sale for $14.99 for 50 are Verbatim 16X, both formats.Probably MCC004. Taiwan made. Good Stuff!

The website I first look at said plus format only. Usually local stores have the plus and dash for the same sale price.I've never seen just one certain format on sale at these stores,unlike the internet stores.
stc9357: It's hard telling if your x-box will play your plus backups. If you haven't tried any backups in it,you may have to try both formats and let that x-box decide which format it likes. You'll get a dirty disc or a no disc error if it doesn't like a certain format. Also try them in your other stand alone player/s and see how they react to them.

stc9357 - If your burner is capable of booktyping, you can booktype DVD+Rs to DVD-ROM and they should play in your X-Box.

Those printables are a lot higher,if you are looking for quality full hub printables. I've been waiting for Office depot's buy 1/get 1 free on their maxell media.
I also like the Verbatim +8x full hub,white inkjet printables.They perform as well as the hitachi maxells.
Depends on format too. Web stores like meritline/americal/rima/and supermedia store has higher prices for the plus format on inkjet printables..
They've also got the thermal jet printable and the shiny inkjet printables which I am dying to try.
Comp USA has a sale on memosux 16x white inkjet printables.Spindle of 50 for $15. These are most likely prodisc and they are not full hubs.

Marik1234: I overlooked your post yesterday. Those verbatim +16x will code as MCC-004. Made in Taiwan,but very good media.Taiwan and Singapore make the quality verbs.Japan quit making them,but the quality control is still highly enforced for both taiwan and singapore.
For my benqs,these babies scan better at the 8x and 12x burn speed.I don't use dash anymore-booktyping reasons.
I've burned over 100 of them with only 1 playback coaster.99% success rate is below par for me! I've got another 150 sitting here just dying to burn.

Yea, me neither, my PS2 reads all my RICOHPJN R03 +8x's booktyped to DVD-ROM better than good. And they work good in my DVD player booktyped to DVD-ROM. My Ridata's are also made in Taiwan, but code out as RICOHJPN R03's...i thought judjing from the name they would be made in Japan, since it does say RICOHJPN or do they just manufacturer them in Taiwan? Either way theyre better than good.

The ricohjpn-r02 should be the +8x speed.
Both are excellent. My ricohjpn-r03 are from Office Depot's +16x store brand name media. Cost about 25 cents each. I was bummed that they weren't Ritek-R03 like all their +8x media is.
My first 50 pack spindle were all ok.The second spindle,I had 3 burn coasters.After looking the disc over closely,there looked like waterspots between the bottom acrylic layer and the dye.I found 3 more after that that didn't get burned. Ok after that bad area of the spindle. These ritek r03 and Ricohjpn-r03's a very good taiwanese media!
Keep a close eye on those Office depot brand +8x and +16x sales. One sale I picked them up for 20 cents each in a buy 1/get 2 free!

Attention Taiyo Yuden Lovers! That means you too Doc TY! I just went to Best Buy & they have those nice colored 30 packs of Fuji's Made in Japan both DVD-R & DVD+R for $9.99. Both of these code as TY Made. By the way, Staples WILL Price Match Best Buy 110%. So, My Best Buy has literally ALL the DVD-R made in Japan & ALL their DVD+R Made in Taiwan, So I took my reciept from the 1 pack of DVD-R I bought into Staples & they have plenty of DVD+R (MIJ). I got them for $9.49 a 30 pack! These are the Real Deal!

I have been using those Verb 16x +Rs for a while now, and i would rate them as right up there with Tys. Been thru 200 of them so far with no coasters, and very good scans. I still like Tys better, but the Verbs are top notch. Gonna go hit up BB and see if i can find some of them Tys hiding in there. Come out, come out, wherever you are!!

Yo Maxburn, The other week I was trying to find some japanese fuji at bestbuy.They had spindles of fuji everywhere. It was like an easter egg hunt. Never did find any of the fuji tys.
