What program do you recommend if I wan't to rip a DVD to MPEG2(720x576) file?
I tried a few rippers but I can only rip them to MPEG2 SVCD, But I wan't to extract the MPEG2 as it is on the disc to a single MPEG2(DVD) file.

What ripper can do this extraction without changing the format?

this doesnt make sense as a dvd is an mpeg2 compatible file.

do you mean that you just want to rip the movie out of the disc without the extras etc.

If you're getting SVCD resolution you're either using programs that do more than rip (ie re-encoding or changing headers at least) or starting out with a disc with an illegal resolution or headers that say it is. Assuming the first case, there are several possibilities, depending on what software you need to open it. I'd recommend looking at the FAQ in the DVD Authoring forum: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/243219#1468261

Use DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode. Launch the software and it will automatically select the main movie. First right click on the PGC and select "create information file". This will make a file with the chapter points. Choose the format you want.

Next, go to the "Stream processing" tab. Put a check on the "Stream processing" box.

Now, go to the list of the stream and right click on one of them. Select "set all - Demux".

It is also a good idea to set file splitting to none. Right click again and select "file splitting=>none". Now click Decrypt and it will rip the movie into elementary streams. You will only need the .M2V and .AC3.

If you want the rest of the movie, you can either repeat the process selecting the different PGCs.
