Hello and merry Christmas everyone!!
I am 29 and I wish to go into business being a distributer/installer of PS2 Modchips. However, I have some concerns. I have googled the net and got mixed search responces..also other forums. Please help me understand my rights concerning this matter. It would be much apprecieated.
Is it legal in the United States of America, particulary in Texas, to....
1. Be a distributer of Modchips??
2. To purchase Modchips.
3. To install Modchips.
4. To sell my Modchips with the TOXIC O.S/BIOS pre flashed?
5. And is it Legal for me to sell and distribute my Modchips to people from other countries whe it is not legal for them to own?
6. Is there any type of license/documentation that I need to not just distribute the Modchips but also for the TOXIX firmware, or overseas license?
Please help me with this by posting links or information backing up the legality of this in the United States. Preferably with links to legal documentation from the supreme court rulings.
Thank you for your time.

My best advise is to contact an online business that has done it for a while like teammodders xmood.
Good luck

#1-3 are all yes, because there are many American-based modchip distributors and I have read that what they are doing (distributing, purchasing, installing) is legal.
As for #5, I'm not sure, but all I can tell you is that the Uk banned modchips, but recently Australia and Italy legalized them due to cases in high courts.
It's Festivus for the rest of us!

magus57, you have been MOST HELPFUL, and in turn have given me peace of mind concerning this matter. I will however continue to read forums/articles to help me keep up to date concerning this. I was a little concerned considering what a software pirate could do with this. In the right hands...yes it is legal...guess it just depends upon what side of the law you walk on. Thx again.

I think number 4 might violate Toxic's GPL License, especially if you charge extra for it.
If you do it for free, probally ok. I would e-mail toxic.
