You might not have heard this yet but...Ritek's starting to go bad. I've seen alot of bad logs w/ Ritek being the disc in those bad logs. I can't say this for all people but w/e. Sorry to have to break it to you, but good luck with them.

That's too bad to hear since I've been out of it for awhile,riding the Harley too much. I have been using Fujifilm coded as R03.I thought this was good so I bought a couple hundred. I read on another site the dye is lighter in color but the batch I got is just as dark as the sony tys I just bought. I've burned about 125 and have had 3 coasters. I thoght it was from my monitor going to sleep and me not realizing and waking it up right when it went out. Since then I keep it awake and no problems. How long has this been going on?

If they code as ritek R03,then I'd definitely take them.I'd burn them all day long without a single coaster.All my ritek-r03 backups are from Office Depot's brand name on their +8x media.
Cost is way too much without the rebate from newegg.I'm also curious about how newegg is on their rebates.

marik1234, I don't know where you got the info that they're $5.00, but you're wrong. The instant savings is $4.99 off the $23.99 regular price, making them $19.00.
Not really a good deal considering I can get a 50 pack of Taiyo Yuden media from Supermediastore for $19.99. Way better media for a way better price! 2 25 packs of those Riteks would be $38.00. LOL I can get 100 Yudens for about that price.

I will not by Ritek again, regardless of price. They are bad for me.

Just me personally, I can go to Best Buy & Get a 50 pack of DVD+R 16X Verbatims that code MCC004 for $14.99 straight up this week. I KNOW these are good, I would rather buy these that take a chance on the Arita Riteks . I feel sure they are good, but Rebates take forever! I HATE Rebates. Just my opinion. I don't like tying up all that money for up to 3-4 months. Then, if you use a Post Office Box like I do, they disquailify you. I think this is Weird since 9 out of 10 times you're mailing that Rebate submission to a Company that uses a P.O. Box too! How Weird is that?

The only problems that I have had with Riteks have been the Office Depot house brand 4x which coded as R02. The 8x and 16x have all been fine though. Go figure...

That sale at newegg.com that marik1234 posted was a weekend special. I saw that site yesterday that marik posted in the beginning of this thread. I think it also included a $15 rebate from newegg.
I went to the site again this morning,and the rebate was no longer listed.The $5 or so discount now,you end up giving back for shipping charges.

Oh allright, I didnt know they were bad...but still, who wouldnt take a chance at a free(almost, $5) 25 pack of RITEK +R media? MY RICOHJPN's R03's are working better than good, playback nicely and play nicely on my PS2. Im using a Lite-On SOHW 1693S burner to burn them, I havent had any problems on over 50 so far...

These quality burners will burn anything you throw at them. As long as your stand alone/s play them ok and the PIE/PIF errors look good,then you should be ok! Those stand alones will tell you if they are any good,otherwise poor playback.
I'd hate to use some unknown media and then 6 months down the road I want to re-rip it for another copy and wham,too many read errors from the poor quality!
