Welcome to the forum. The error message has a workaround and it is below as it comes from the Shrink site:

"A work-around is to right click the desktop icon and press Run As...
Run as current user but uncheck the box below it (something about protection)
It should work by executing it this way"

If that fails re-install Shrink and see if that corrects it

@chulli

Use the guide in my signature for DVDdecrypter and DVDshrink. It's step by step and will walk you through the process.

Excellent!

Very nice guys, the only problem is DVD Decrypter software is no longer available, at the time I downloaded it. I downloaded DVD FAB Decrypter instead and I think it does a good job, I tried it with a movie that I purchase and it work, I was able to make a copy. Whe it came to dowloading movies and trying to decrypt them, it did not give me the option to get the movie from were it was or from were I put it. I tried to drag and drop which di not work either. I hear all this stuff about a key and stuff that I did not have to do. do you have any instructions on how to reinstal and use for the Fab decrypter? and do I need a cd burner sofware or something. I don't get what the porpose would be but I hear people burn movies, I just copy them. I'm so lost.
? DVDFab Decrypter (free DVD ripper)
? ImgBurn (DVD image burning software from the original author of DVD Decrypter, free)I think I'll download this one.
Thanks.

DVD Decrypter is still available on the web, just not on this site (and a few others), just google it and you'd be suprised what you'll find.

9mmruger1 ,
Hello again, let me tell you that your guide fro the decrypter and the shrinking situation it is excellent, I haven't done it yet, but I was reading thru it and let me tell you, it can not get any better and easier than that. very helpfull. Thanks!

I have an unpleasant question but very important: If I borought a movie from a very literate computer friend and I do all necessary to copy it, I'm succesfull at it, can that person/store find out about it when I return it???
If I decrypted & decode, can I put it back how it was with the coding?? or is it necessary, I don't want them to find out, but I want that copy. you know what I mean!

chulli,
They will not know if you copied the disk unless you copied it in front of them so do not worry.

@chulli

As Car.Mike stated there is no way for anyone to know that the original disc has been copied, these programs do nothing but extract information from the originals, they do not alter the originall in any way.

I recently heard that the bigboys of rentals are implementing lie detector tests for those with multiple rentals or those whom frequent their establishments a bit too often. Better watch yourself chulli.

A laser has to read the information from the disc, to play the disc, and that same laser can be used to extract the info to a HD. No way for someone to know how the laser was used, as it reads the info the same way, just the output is different when you play it. Not sure if i even made sense on that last part... Yeah, unless you busted yourself, and outright told someone you were copying the movie, no way for anyone to know what you did with that movie unless you tell someone. (or even tell the world if you post here :) ~) You are not burning the original disc when you read the info there, just reading it. Yes, it reads with a laser, but it isn't burning.. Doesn't alter the original disc in any way.
