I looked in my local paper and saw for sale at COMP-USA
Memorex 50 pack +R -R 16x printable dvd's for only 14.99
Is that pretty good? Is the media pretty good? How does Memorex stack up

Also another question. What would someone suggest as to really good media.

-Sony (MIJ)
-Memorex
-Fuji

Steer clear of Memorex. They use some horrible manufacturers... Sony and Fuji are top notch if they are Made in Japan (Taiyo Yuden) vs. Made in Taiwan. You have the hassle of inspecting spindle after spindle for the MIJ in the bunch, though. Verbatim is top notch media that can readily be found in brick and mortar stores. Taiyo Yuden is king of the hill and can be found at rima.com and supermediastore.com.

Those memosux 16x printables may be prodisc. Not a very good quality manufacturer.I haven't seen very much about those 16x printables, but they do use prodisc in the slower speed on their printables. That is too cheap of price for printables. I'll have to check them out.

I'd totally skip memorex. Way too many different manufacturers and very difficult to tell who made them until you open up the spindle.

The japanese sony and fuji would be the best of that list.On the plus 8x sony and fuji, Taiyo yuden makes them: Yuden000-T02. On the dash 8x japanese fuji,Taiyo yuden also makes them: Ty-g02

I'll also add in the Japanese maxells in the 8x speed. Hitachi makes them and they are very good.

Verbatim are top notch. Best buy has them on sale for $14.99 a spindle of 50 in the 16x speed! Quality metal azo dye in them, just like taiyo yuden!

Edit: Here they are. White inkjet printable-not full hubs:

I wanted to make sure they weren't thermal printables.

I'd be cautious. I use verbatim +8x and the japanese Maxell +8x full hub white inkjet printables and they are sweet!
