HI,
I Have been using DVD decrypter and DVD shrink to make backups but the newer DVDs have some different kind of protection and while using DVD decrypter, i keep getting this error.

E 22:36:49 Failed to read Sector 2452801 - Unrecovered Read Error

this happened with three latest DVDs I tried. The one i tried recently was brand new, just opened from the box, not scratched one.
Can anyone help please, what can i check?

As DVDdecrypter and DVDshrink are not updated any longer some of the newer movies will have encryptions on them that they cannot break by themselves.

You can download DVD43 (free) from this site. Run it in the background before you open decrypter or shrink, allow it to break the encryption on the DVD (you will see the change in the face in the taskbar, and then open decrypter and use your normal process.

You could also download DVDFab decrypter which has its own encryption breaker built in and then use shrink and decrypter.

Look at the guides in my signature and you will find the method that works best for you.

thanks 9mmruger1,
i tried using the DVDFab decrypter and it works fine till it comes across this one specific VOB file (DVD Decrypter failes at this file) and then the copying becomes really slow. It starts copying like 1kb/s. I kept it running all night and it barely copied the next 1GB VOB file to HD. Seems like this is some new encryption. do you know any other lastesd decryters? thnx
