Hi I'm having difficulty putting a converted movie on my psp. I followed the guide which is stickied and everything went ok until I tried copying the converted file to my psp. It said "file is too big, please delete one or more files to free up disc space", I have a 1gb memory stick and the converted file is just a little over 1gb. Can I make the conversion into a smaller file? The movie I converted is are we there yet, which is only 90mins long! Thanks.

Did you use PSP Video 9 as that is the reccomended Transcoder. If so, have you tried other settings?

A bigger memory stick? I have a 1gb and I thought that should be plenty big enough. I'm looking for good quality and don't mind if the converted video file nearly takes up all that memory. So any settings advice?

Paul, try these settings, they're after working for me fine! It's changed a little over 700mb file into a 435mb very good quality file. I take it your using psp video 9, thats what I'm using anyway. In settings, change "one click profile" to sp/movie (0-2h), then hit the profiles tab, change "existing quality profiles" to sp/movie (0-2h). Then go down to video birate, and change to 512kbps, then go down to the audio settings and change the birate to 128kbps. Then go to the next tab, "profile picker" and make sure the "one click profile" is set at sp/movie (0-2h). And that's it, I got a really good quality film. If anyone has any other suggestions on this, I would be glad to hear them. Thanks.

Yeah, just takes a bit of tooling around, i use the lower settings for anime, cause the animation in general doesn't suffer nearly as much as live action movies, and i've converted a few movies from dvd and also DivX using the 768k option, they're only ever @700mb at the most, you must have used the 1500kps setting to have an output file that big?
Under setup, then the 2nd last tab called profile picker, it has a calculator to show what the size will roughly be, just enter the length of the movie, and chose the quality settings, it has always been pretty spot on for me, hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks, thats good to know. No, I used 1500kps the first time I converted and I got a wopping file that was over a gb. Like you said, it'll take a bit of messin about with the settings but I'm fairly happy at the min. :-)
