Great job buddy, but turn off the caps lock. It's against forum rules to shout at people.

I tried Shrink and Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background and nothing works for my wedding crashers. The program stops responding on the last ISO file #15. I tried to blank it out with VOB Blanker but it didn't work. HELP!

If you've made a successful backup of a movie, it's polite to describe how you did it so others can follow.

@ wmchavez
Get DVDFab Decrypter and use it to rip the DVD having AnyDVD running in the backround. Open the files with shrink and make your backup. If shrink gives you a problem when opening the files then process them with vobblanker first.

When using vobblanker look for the VTS_XX.VOB that has the largest file size(this is usually the main movie), click on it to display the associated PGCs in the selected title set on the bottom. Under PGC# look for the entry XX that has the longest duration and size, this is the entry you want to keep, blank the rest. Process and then open with shrink.

Ocassionally I have a problem opening files wiht Shrink. What is vobblanker? I never heard of it. Is it a stand alone program or part of Shrink?

I use Shrink And CloneDVD to burn my movies.

Thanks

Hey, I had no problem copying Wedding Crashers, just rip with Decrypter, Shrink with Shrink, and burn with Decrypter. Done!

FYI, it's been available to rent in the UK since before Christmas...

Hey Guys,
Get the latest versions: AnyDVD, ver. 5.7.3.1 and DVDFabDecrypter, ver. 2.9.6.6
Get um here:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm
Then forget about using VobBlanker, because these programs have been updated to handle the bad PGC?s???.

The only way to fly ^^

Hi all, this is my first post on this board, though I have visited this site often and it has been quite helpful. I have been burning movies for about two years now and up until recently, have been recording to DVD-5. I have recently started recording to DVD-9 and normally rip with DVDFab and just copy all of the files into the Video TS file in a "DVD-Video" burn under Nero 7 Burning Rom. Or I use Decrypter in "iso read" then "iso write". So far have never needed anydvd or vobblanker (I honestly don't even know what this program is). Sorry for the rambling, but my question is as follows: I'm getting WC tomorrow, because I don't plan to compress the movie, would a simple DVDFab Decrypt to Nero burn leave me vulnerable to these same problems that many are having?? Sorry for the newb questions, but my understanding on the whole matter is still very limited. Thanks in advance.

Eddie

@ebega,
Hi and welcome.
If you are backing up to DL I don?t see you having any problems with the new RipGuard or bad sector protection, like you would have if compressing it to a DVD-5.
I just made a DL back up of Brothers Grimm using DVDDecrypter, ISO Read then ISO Write and had no problems what-so-ever?
No need for anything else running in the background.
I like to make my DL?s with DVDDecrypter because I feel that it handles the layer break better than Nero. Just my opinion?

wedding crashers

I burned it twice. The first time with AnyDVD, shrink, then Nero. Then I read that chapter 10 was glitching or whathave you. So I checked it and it wouldn't even open chapter 10. I redid the movie with dvdfab, shrink, and Nero. Chapter 10 and 11 are glitching. What would be the mostly likely problem and solution.

@deedums354 - sounds like crappy blank disc/too high a burn speed to me..

if Nero 6 - let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

if Nero 7 - let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '5C80' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

Not sure, but I used DVDShrink 3.2 with AnyDVD 5.4.4.1 (older version) with Nero 6 + latest updates. No issues with glitches on any chapters.

I've heard rumors that you need latest and greatest version of AnyDVD to fix that glitch issue. I'm not sure, but my copy works great.

Thanks for all the help guys, did a simple iso read then iso write with DVD Decrypter onto Verbatim DVD+R DL using an NEC 3520A burner at 4x. Worked perfect with all menus, subtitles, audio tracks, extras, etc. Thanks again for all the info.
