First off I haven't heard of any problems w/this movie. What method are you using to burn the flick. Also maybe try the search feature and type in american pie and see if their were other problems with it. ---zen-->

I can't back it up either. DVD Shrink will analyze it but when I hit backup and tell it where to save it it acts like it will work then it just disappears off the screen. Can anyone offer any help, please?

Worked fine for me. Maybe its the disc that is giving you guys trouble. Bring it back and get another one. I've had discs that wouldn't work either, but when I brought them back and exchanged for another one they worked fine.

i did mine about half an hour with just DVD Shrink on it's lonesome. if you really can't do this movie with just DV DShrink then try DVDFab Decrypter (free) to rip entire disc to hard drive then use DVD Shrink from there

@help911

Try to backup the main movie only in reauthor mode.

I re authored it. I tried using AnyDVD and shrink as well. I ended up re authoring it using shrink and still got the full movie with the extra features added to the end of it. They just played automatically.

@ racer894
Your version of AnyDVD(5.6.3.1) is out-of-date. Newest is what I have 5.8.2.1 Upgrade and then see if you have the same problem. I haven't tried that movie.

When you rip the movie to your hard drive use DVD Decrypter in file mode not iso mode.Than shrink will work fine. The problem is with a video clip of a boy jumping the unreferenced material. Even if you replaced these files with still images with shrink the(jump boy) problem will still be there. When you rip the movie in iso mode your making a exact copy of the disc every single file. when you rip in file mode decrypter will remove these files automatically. or you can re-author the disc with shrink but no menus for you. by the way AnyDVD wasn't running when i did this if that matters to you. freeware all the way

I had major problems with Band Camp as well. The way that i got it works is as follows.

1. Decrypt with DVD Decrypter in ISO. Mode
2. Open ISO. file with DVD Shrink and Re-Authored to include only the main movie and one of the special features.
3. It kind of sucks not to have the menu but to me it doesnt really matter.

Good Luck with it

I got the 'Out of Memory error' when I tried copying American Pie: Band Camp. I've experienced the 'Out of memory error' with a few newer titles that are out. If you rip the movie with CloneDVD2 first to the hard drive, then run the video files through DVD Shrink, this should work fine. Every movie I've gotten the memory error with during DVD Shrink worked fine after I ripped it with CloneDVD2 to the hard drive first. Let me know if this works.

michael9 looses his menus and most special features and egibson83 has to pay for his software or steal it. i still say my method is better.

When I tried using DVD Decrypter and then running the output files through Shrink, I ran into a thread handling error. If that method works for you, then thats fine, but if I get the 'memory error' 9 times out of 10 if I use DVD Decrypter then shrink...I just get a thread handling error. I've been successful every time with CloneDVD2. Actually you don't even need to run the output files through shrink afterwards. You can shrink with CloneDVD2 as well. I haven't been successful with any other methods explained in this thread. They may fix his problem though. Each person's setup can affect the copying process. Just try each method and see which one works for you. Goodluck!

I've backed up "American Pie Band Camp, Dark Water, Wedding Crashers, Hustle & Flow" using my VobBlanker method with 100% success.

Here's my method: 100% success regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS, no AnyDVD, no DVD43 required, no hustle. All tools are FREE, except for Nero.

<><><> Alkohol's VobBlanker method <><><>
<> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to hard drive
<> or rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 to hard drive
<> VobBlanker version 2.1.0.0 to process and filter out fake/bad cells
<> encode/transcode with Nero Recode 2 or DVD Shrink
<> burn with Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express

<><><> Alkohol's 2nd method (alternatives) <><><>
<> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to hard drive
<> or rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 to hard drive
<> PgcEdit combo PSL2 plugin + FixVTS to process and filter out craps, fake cells
<> encode/transcode with Nero Recode 2 or DVD Shrink
<> burn with Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express

That's it... easy as sippin' on a Whiskey. No sweat, no worry, no glitches, no black screen, no misery, no hustle, no AnyDVD, no DVD43, 100% success.

Enjoy it!!

Some things are actually worth paying for. Anydvd is one of these. With AnyDVD running Shrink will see movie as "unprotected" and will work perfectly. Less steps, less aggrevation, less work, faster, excellent results. Worth every penny.
