@ DVDBURNUP hi :)
Ridata is Ritek corp's own brand label
AS Rotary says G05-r are first class, if your drive will convert +r then go for the R03+r bitset (booktyped) -rom this will make all your backups play on pretty much 100% of all stand alone players

Ridata 2.4X +R DL media is either Ritek or Ricoh. I've used both without problems, although Verbatim is superior imo. Also use only +R DL media so it can be booktyped as DVD-ROM, else you may have problems in standalone players.

For the Ritek +R DL media, there isn't any way that I'm aware of to know in advance whether the disks are Ritek or Ricoh oem. It doesn't really matter as both burn about the same in a recent DL burner with updated firmware.

The G05 and R03 Ridata are Ritek single layer -R and +R media preferred by some.

You will see references to Made in Japan-labeled Fuji and Sony media since that media is made Taiyo Yuden, one of the highest quality disk makers. Usually when people refer to Singapore they're referring to Verbatim DL media. The MIS is tre excellent stuff and preferred over all others.

Trust me there is Ridata -R DL media about. Just say no because of problems with playback in many standalones. There'll come a time when the new players recognize all of this stuff out of the box, but until then....
