i have 2 questions.

1. how can i burn an .avi file to a dvd so that i can view it through my dvd player.

2. how can i make backup copies of my current dvd.

Wull there's a few good programs out there (fer converting avi's) one of the best is VSOs' in my humble opinion.

On the second part of your question...copying DVDs' is illegal...

So in the spirit of Ad seek yer morrow.

Thanks for the help, the programt hat you mentioned. Will that let me burn it to DVD and player in a regular DVD player. All the copy's of the DVD's are backup copies of purchased DVD's of my collection, which is not illegal ;-)

The program that you said "I mentioned" was about converting AVI to DVD?

If by mischance; you've obtained these AVI files illegally, or DVDs' in your possession.

Then seek your morrow.

If you click on link in my sig (by alkohol) it will take you to a pretty good tutorial AVI to DVD using Nero.
To back up one of your personal DVDs then choose either ScubaPete or bbamyo guide also in my sig. All your answers are there for you.
