Check for an update to AnyDVD. I haven't run into a DvD it couldn't handle yet.
Also, there is DVD43, and DVD fab that you could try.

Just a quick drive by:
Rip with AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter in File mode. DVD Shrink should be able to process the resulting video files without any problems.
Nero Recode and AnyDVD will process the Main Title only without choking.

I was able to make a back up copy. Have AnyDVD running in background, processed it through VOB blanker, then DVD Shrink and burned with Nero. Have played it on my dvd player and their are no problems.

AnyDVD in the background, ripped and burned using CloneDVD2. No problems whatsoever. I know when a new protection is coming out because I get an update from Slysoft a day or so before a "problem DVD" is released!!!

I couldn't get this DVD to open with Shrink and AnyDVD running. So I closed AnyDVD opened with Shrink and ripped it without a problem. Been a long time since I have used Shrink by it's lonesome... :)
Good Luck!

I just copied Broken Flowers and Wedding Crashers using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. I now use these two programs only when backing up DVD's, so far there has not been a DVD the programs can not back up.
With the $10.00 e-coupon from Afterdawn the $49.00 is money well spent.

DVD Decrypter had no problems with ripping this movie for me. I then processed it through VOB BLanker and burned with Shrink and Nero and my copy works perfectly.

Disabling AnyDVD seems to be the key thing for this one.

My friends have no problem backup up Broken Flowers and Wedding Crashers. Both using AnyDVD 5.7.2.1 and CloneDVD 2.8.5.1.

Yes the anydvd/clonedvd combo doesn't burp, but AnyDVD with shrink or decrypter or Nero recode causes problems for some reason. This happened a while back with another disk as well. I don't think BF has any protection other than plain CSS.

I couldn't get Shrink to even do a backup after ripping with FAB. Nero Recode failed the first time (in the same way Shrink did), but after I turned off the "Burn at Once" Nero Recode did fine. This is the first one that Shrink would not work on after using FAB.

i'm still a bit confused as to how to burn this to a disc.
i used DVDFab and have burned all the files to my hard drive. now how do i get Nero to burn them to disc? typically i have used only dvdshrink and it has done it all in one sweep.
i've been clicking the "open files" button, rather than the "open disc" button, then selecting "backup." however, the encoding process still fails, and i get this message:
"DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue.
Programming error - exception occurred"
thanks,

If don't have AnyDVD and have alredy ripped files to HD with some other decryption program run them through vobBlanker and then use Shrink on the resulting files to create ISO file. Use any burning program you have to burn ISO file to disc.
Good ole Alkohol swears by vobBlanker and per his posts indicates he hasn't found a DVD that he hasn't been able get Shrink to accept once processed using free programs to rip. Don't have to know all the bells and whistles with vobBlanker just tell it where the files are you want to input. Create a folder called Broken Flowers 2 or something like that and tell vobBlanker that is where you want files to go. Just click on PROCESS!! and sit back while it does its' thing. When done, run Broken Flowers 2 through Shrink as above. Should work. I used AnyDVD with Decrytpter and Shrink without a problem. Tested with CloneDVD2 as well. Turned off AnyDVD and used Decrypter alone, ran files through vobBlanker and then Shrink also without a problem.
Hope this works for you

Just a PS
Alkohol just posted about using vobBlanker on The Fog and the process is the similar for any movie so go to http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/293994 to see the process. Also I don't think Alkohol ever sleeps! What he does do is give ppl here at AD help using all FREE programs and using vobBlanker. Have nothing to loose trying it.
