You will need to get DVD Shrink, a free program that will compress your movie to fit on a single layer DVD. There is a guide in my sig for both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

What movie is it... I've never encountered a movie that I couldn't get to shrink, especially not with re-author mode and slecting the movie only.

jess, are you trying to rip with Shrink, as well? just rip in Iso mode in Decrypter, then open the files in Shrink. shrink and burn from there; works every time.

insert the movie in your drive. rip it with DVD Decrypter in iso mode. note where the file is placed. close Decrypter. open DVD Shrink. select Open Files. select the .iso from Decrypter, and let Shrink run through it. then, shrink, encode, and burn with Shrink.

YOu seem really lost, here is a step by step, interactive guide made by fasfrank that will really help you:
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial012.html
And here is one for all of Shrink's preferences:
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial002.html
These will take a while to load if you got dial-up, so just wait awhile
I don't see the point of useing DVDecrypter, it does pretty much all movies Shrink does, you're just adding an extra step for yourself.

So you are saying you hit the "back up" button and it doesn't do anything? Or are you saying Shrink can't open it up to do a quick analysis? Is your DMA on?

so you're having issues with ripping the movie due to new protection, it sounds like. A free solution is the DVDFab Decrypter. on the AD software page you'll find this proggy. download it and try to rip then. then open those files with Shrink. other programs that would allow you to rip include AnyDVD and DVD43, but their free trials run out quickly, lol.
*edit*
or am i going in a totally wrong direction here? guess i misunderstood. do you make it to the point where you can burn with shrink? if so, you need to be aware that shrink has to use another program to burn, as it has no real native engine. there is a checkbox to select Nero to burn with, as well as Decrypter, i believe.

Quote: dvd shrink will not copy it on its own
Is that a statement or a question?
Ok for the punisher and bourne supremacy, the only two progs you will need is DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. Place Disc into optical drive and open DVD Decrypter. Go to Mode->File, then go to Edit->select all, hit the big button on the lower right side to rip disc to HDD.
Follow the DVD Shrink setup guide provided for you by GlueEater. Open DVD Shrink and open files, go to reauthor, double click title 1 under main movie. Open the compression tab and deselect all audio except AC3 5.1 and all subtitles(unless you need them). Press backup, under target drop down menu select ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter. Hit OK, and when DVD Shrink is finished transcoding it will automatically call up DVD Decrypter to burn your movie. Make sure that you have a blank disc in your DVD-RW drive.

The only movie out of all of those you listed that i haven't backed up with just DVD Shrink, is american pie band camp, and that's only because I don't have it yet.
Is the disc really scratched or something?

you just leave AnyDVD running in the background. it decrypts the protections automatically, without running anything. with the AnyDVD critter in your task bar, you should be able to open Shrink and do everything from there.
