I would like to know how to keep the menu (scene selections, etc) along with the main movie. Right now it?s just the movie. I first use DVD Decrypter, then Shrink, then DVD Decrypter. Here?s a list of the files if that helps. The bold print are the files that are in blue. If info is out there I could not find it in the forums so if I just didn?t find it I apologize. Thank you in advance for any help.

chilwill ,
You rip all of the files to HD using DVDDecrypter and then you can keep what ever you want by using Shrink and just make whatever you do not want a still picture. Below ia a guide . Look for "Still Image"

Shoot, I totally messed up which files were originally in the blue.
Now I've numbered them if that helps at all. I understand that the files already chosen are the movie(with music, credits and so on) but is it possible just by looking at the files to tell which is the menu?

chilwill ,
I can tell you which one is the movie but I would have to guess on the menu. Just let Shrink do it for you and then make it a still image. Do not try and edit the raw .ifo,.VOB,and bup as you might get it wrong and really screw things up. If I had to guess it is VTS 1

chilwill,
Download AnyDVD + clonedvd2 for trial periods for 21 days. Clonedvd2 will do the trick by keeping menu along with the main movie.
Go on test it and see whether they are what you are looking with no cost.

lol I actually have those 2. Just got them the other day. Here's the thing...did some reading of many posts yesterday and read about using Decrypter, then Shrink, then Decrypter again for better compression. I had been originally doing Shrink then Decryp and backup done. Compared decryp, shrink, decrp vs. Clone DVD and kept getting better, not by much but better, compresson results using the first method (D, then S, then D to burn). Then I figured..hey lets get rid of these trailers, theyr a waste. thats what led me to my ????? Someone please smack me :) Help

chilwill ,
DVDDecrypter is choosing nothing. Let Shrink do it. Just rip all of the DVD files to HD using DVDDecrypter
Below is a guide on how to use Shrink:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/BACKUP%20WITH%20SHRINK.pdf
If I use Shrink I keep nothing but the main movie as if I want to see the rest I'll bring the original out

Thanks so much for answering me. Thing is I have that guide...printed it yesterday and used it. Its very good. With it I was able to get the better comprssion and backup my original. Thing is I watched half last nite and then figured I watch the rest this morning to make sure it was cool(this is the backup I'm speaking of). In the morn thats when I knew there wasn't a menu. Had to fast foward thru it to get where i stopped watching. I'm just attempting perfection(minus 100% compression). Maybe I'm going for too much, huh?

chilwill ,
If you are going for quality then use DVD-Rebuilder as you could take the whole disk and really get a excellent quality DVD-5. It would be better than using Shrink as you are encoding instead of trancoding. It will take longer but it is better quality and you can keep the menus

You should also be able to skip from chapter to chapter too, instead of fast forwarding...the chapters are still there, you just don't have a menu to choose your scenes with.

Also I got the menu to go with the movie and it moved right along as if it were part of the movie. lol I was so proud of myself for an entire second.

No problemo on the advice, but I can't offer any on rebuilder because I've never used it. It is slower but the quality is supposed to second to none.
