after I hit open disc, I get to about 81% analyzed and then i get the blue screen and my computer restarts before I can read the error message. I haven't installed anything new on the system. any thoughts?

Nothing special on this one that I recall- but it sounds like your pc may be overheating.
Make sure all your fans are clear and not clogged. No multi tasking and shut down any unneccesary processes.
You can also try ripping w/ decrypter or dvdfab decrypter then try running thru shirk.

I think blinkie7 may be right on. Probably overheating. Shrink is very CPU intensive and will use almost 100% of available system resources to do its job.

Try putting a small fan in front of the computer to assist with air flow.
