Well, I need to move to another program to save my DVD's to my hard drive. Tell me, is AnyDVD worth purchasing? Also, I love to use DVD Shrink...will I be able to use AnyDVD with DVDShrink? With this, I assume I can rip the DVD with any program even an old version of DVD Decrypter (if ANY DVD is loaded in memory)...then I still can use my DVD Shrink program to burn since I like to re-author and find it very easy. I don't mind paying for it...just as long as it's worth to purchase. Anyone have personal expereinces with it?
So far it's worked with any program i've tried. I mainly use shrink & dvddecrypter the most. And if you check around i think if you enter afterdawn in coupon area you might save a few bucks.
AnyDVD is well worth the money, you get free lifetime updates that come out on regular basis and the program does exactly what you want it to do without any sort of difficulty.
AnyDVD is a great program, but it being worth the purchase depends more on how much you know and what you are willing to do.
I have pointed out in some guides that I wrote that ARccOS and Ripguard are nothing special. I have ripped both using DVD Decrypter v3.1.0.0, which is old and has no support for either corruption.
If you are willing to go through the process pointed out in my guide, then AnyDVD is not worth it (Ripguard Guide only available through PM). Also, keep in mind, that if you are reauthoring the movie, you only need to rip what you plan to use (I use IFO Mode for Re-authoring):
Both methods are very simple and do not require much time from you. The PSL is the faster of the two methods though.
If you do not have the time or you have $30 extra cash, then AnyDVD is a great buy and currently the best Corruption remover, but if I were strapped for cash, I would not mind putting a little effort and continue using Freeware programs. I do not know your situation, so that is why I made several suggestions.
You can also try DVDFab Decrypter which is free and can handle newer releases. It is not as versatile as DVD Decrypter, but more than enough if you are reauthoring with DVD Shrink. Give this a try before spending extra money.
