Hello There:

It takes hours to download one movie and hours to transcode it using NVE2. And you think your trouble is over to find out it only started. The problem I am having is when I try to burn the movies using my ACER notebook. After trnacoding the movie, NVE2 starts to write the tracks and about half way through the process it just stops there. It does not freeze but stays like this for hours and hours and I have to kill it.

After I kill it of course my DVD disk is wasted and cannot be used for burning movies again.

Does anybody know what could the problem be? I am new this stuff; I burnt few movies successfully but had this problem on three different occasions. I am lost for an answer is it the movies, the format, Hardware problem or is it NVE2.

Thank you and Happy new year

does the downloaded file play fine on the notebook?
sure its not a file problem?
what burner do you have, does it have the latest firmware?

Notebook : Acer Extensa 2303LM. Intel Celeron M340, 1.5 GHz
with 256 RAM
NVE2 version 2.1.2
Yes the downloaded file plays fine and it is XviD format.
DVD burner is MATSHITA-UJ-840D

I also noticed that the DVD's I am using are 8X speed and Nero was set at Max speed, could that be the proble???. Although it worked before with the same settings and DVD type.

regards

well, on a notebook, i'd expect slower rip and burn speeds, there not known for blazing speeds anyway.
check the firmware, i can't access the internet very good right now, i am at work anyway... we have a busy connection here i guess.
i am not 100% sure on that version of Nero vision express, but i can tell you that NVE3 is out. go to nero's home page and download the newest version.
only do the first 2 updates, don't bother with the rest...
