The last two movies I've ripped with DVDFab Decrypter - "War of the Worlds" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" - have taken FOREVER! I think they both took in the 7-8 hour range. I've used DVDFab Decrypter several times before and it has never taken anywhere near this long.
I don't think it's a problem with my drive because I installed AnyDVD and then ripped Batman Begins using DVD Decrypter and it was much, much faster (it finished in about an hour). When I tried the same movie with DVDFab Decrypter, it was crawling along and on pace to take 7 or 8 hours.
Anyone have similar problems with DVDFab Decrypter? Better yet, does anyone know what I can do to bring it back up to speed?
I searched around a little bit about this and saw some stuff about DMA. My transfer mode was already set to DMA. The only difference between mine and the article was that for the Primary IDE channel it said "Ultra DMA Mode 2", not "Ultra DMA Mode 5." I followed the guide anyways and reinstalled DMA, but everything is still the same and it is still in mode 2, not mode 5.
DVDFab Decrypter is still really slow. AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter is still fast. Which leads me to think the problem is with DVDFab Decrypter, not my computer. But in my searching, I found a thread called "DVDFab Decrypter is suddenly much faster" (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/274253), so I'm curious why it would be fast for one person but slow for me.
I have version 2.9.6.2 installed, so I'll try upgrading to version 2.9.6.6 and see if that helps.
