i softmodded my xbox using 007 method.i did everything the same way i did another xbox that is still working.But this time when i was done it said error 21.I try reinstalling again and again for like a hour.it would still play games but wouldn't load my evox dash.the next day it wouldnt load any games and i cant ftp to fix the files.Can i fix this? If so, how? Thanx.

hmmm, something probably got botched in the intallation process. Im not all that familliar with softmodding but im pretty sure that there is a restore MS dash option; do that. if that works you have an opportunity to try again from scatch.

ps, if it dont work from scratch, try using "softmod installer delux 2.0" instead of whatever your useing.

btw, error code 21 means,

21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag.

it wont load any disc(game,dvd,cd).when i turn on the xbox with or without a disc it loads the first xbox screen(the one with the green blob) then it says call customer service error 21?

well if it wont boot a disk and you have the retail BIOS, well your screwed. im gonna look for a good tutorial on hot swaping harddrives. this can save your xbox, so not all is lost :)

i dont have the time right now to do this right now, srry.(gotto go out)

in the meantime someone else give him a good link.

Do you know if you successfully installed the softmod and did not install EvoX or UnleashX. Try turning on the Xbox with the reset button rather than the power button. If the softomod is installed it will open up with the softmod's dash.

if i replace the hard drive will that fix it? Can use a crossover cable to change files since i cant ftp?

can i connect my xbox to my pc through a crossover cable while its at the error screen? i cant ftp cuz it goes straight to the error screen.so if i can use a crossover cable i change/fix/edit files on my xbox and maybe save it.

did you try that?^^

You need to have a dash appear in order to be able to FTP.

Hotswapping xbox hardrives is, you install all the files via your computer then just plug it into you xbox. I think its you only solution, other than installing a modchip with a bios already on it.
