Ok I have in the past had a sony Exterior burner and I now have a Internal superdrive. I am about through with trying to backup my DVD's I just can't win! I will give you an example of the last three movies I have atempted. #1 Robots: I used Mac the Ripper 1st and then burned it using Toast 7 and towards the end of the movie (Chapter 26) it freezes every time... on three burned copies... I did each one from the ground up using Verbatim DVD+R. So I gave up on that one and moved on to #2 Million Dollar Baby : Again used Mac the Ripper no problems and the video_ts plays back perfectly with no problems so I burn it using toast 7 using a dual layer disc so I don't compromise the quality... it finishes I put it into the DVD player... "unreadable format" but I can play it back in the computer. I checked three different DVD players and none of them would play it! So I move on... kinda... I try burning Bewitched and Mac he Ripper gives me some crap about it not decrypting entirely but it still may play back. So I play the file using the Mac and no problems, smooth in the video_ts of course so I burn it with Verbatim DVD+R again and the movie plays back fine... except for the first chapter. It won't play the first chapter! I cn skip it and the rest of the movie will be fine but Im loosing my mind trying to find a way to make a successful backup with my Mac. Im tired of making coasters and to be honest Im not sure If I can afford it much longer. I need to know if there is anyone out there that has a decent method of making a backup using this damn machine! There just aren't many options with a Mac and Im looking for anyone with an answer... and don't say by a PC... please. Thank ou for reading my book. any input would be appreciated.
