I am trying to burn Dances With Wolves. It is coming up cannot read D:/ data error (cyclic redundancy check) What does that mean? Is there anyway that I would be able to copy this?

Thats a fairly old DVD so there is no special protection on it. CRC is an error checking process that occurs while your system is reading. If for some reason the process can't complete a "cycle" then you get an error.

This is almost always caused by dirty or scratched areas on the DVD. If other DVDs are working ok then the problem is with the DVD. Occasionaly you will get a DVD that has no scratches and is clean that will do this. In that case you need to get a different original.

Try cleaning the DVD and see if it helps. Check for scratches.
