Hi

I have just recently started burning DVDs, and have found all your guides and forums very helpful indeed. However I've been stuck with this problem for the last few days now, and no amount of searching and reading guides seems to have helped.

What I'm trying (and failing) to do is burn a downloaded series of .avi files to DVD.

So far I have used DIVXtoDVD to convert the files, and then put them through DVD shrink. So I now have a bunch of ISO files which should fit on one DVD.

However DVD Decrypter only seems to allow me to open one ISO file, and Nero doesn't seem to allow ISO files at all.

Is there any software that allows me to do this, or should I use a different process entirely?

Sorry for the long post, any help is much appreciated!

If you need to construct a menu then you need a DVD Authoring program. In Nero that's NeroVision Express. Others are TMPGEnc Author, DVD Lab, etc.

In Nero, to import the ISO stored as a disk file, just mount the ISO as a virtual DVD with Daemon Tools (free) or Nero's Image Drive. After mounting the ISOs will appear as DVDs whih can be imported. You could also use DVD Shrink or Nero Recode to convert the ISOs into a folder of video files (don't allow compression or you may lose quality) which could then be imported into NeroVision Express. If the ISO is mounted as a virtual DVD then you can also use DVD Decrypter to convert the ISO back to a folder of video files.

If you don't care about menus, then just use DVD Shrink in Reauthor Mode. Shrink will read and import ISO files without any problems. You could use Shrink first and import your ISOs and output a folder of video files to your hard drive and then import those into whatever authoring program you want to use to construct menus. There's many ways to go here.

Thanks for your help.

I tried to get Daemon Tools but it doesn't seem to be available (?).

I didn't make clear in my first post that I have both the ISO files aswell as the video TS folders from when i converted from DivX to dvd. My problem is that all the video files are called the same thing within the folders of each individual episode (each episode has 5 files - 2 BUP, 2 IFO files and a VOB file). Only the ISO files have the correct names (Episode 1, Episode 2 etc).

So is there any way i can burn the ISO files straight to DVD?

Or should i rename the VIDEO_TS files so i can identify them?

Please help!

Actually it seems to be possible to burn the VOB files just using NeroVision Express. Am i on the right lines?

Nero can burn either a folder of DVD video files or an ISO image file. DVD Decrypter can only burn ISO files. ImgBurn can only burn ISO files. DVD Shrink can burn either.

Thanks for the quick response.

Is it possible for DVD Decrypter to burn more than one ISO file onto one disc?

No, the files must be combined into a single ISO file by an authoring program: DVD Shrink in Reauthor Mode, NeroVision Express, TPMGEnc Author, etc. Then DVD Decrypter can burn that resulting ISO.

Ok i tried that, by putting all the VOB files in one folder and reauthoring in DVD Shrink, then burning the resulting ISO file. But the disc didn't work in my player.

I also tried burning the VOB files in Nero Vision Express, but it came up with an error about Dolby and having to download a plugin. The disc worked, with menus etc, but with no sound.

What am i doing wrong?
