Audio and Video out of sync only on the DVD

Like the title implies, I'm having trouble with the audio and video. Basicly, I convert the AVI to MPEG (I tested the videos on my computer, the video and audio are in-sync throughout the entire video) then burn it to my DVD-R (I've tried both WinAvi and Intervideo WinDvd Creator 2). I tried playing them on both my computer and TV, with the same results. In-sync at first, then it gradually begins to deteriorate. I'm totally clueless on the subject. (By the way, I searched the forums for a similar topic, but the only ones I could find were on out of sync audio after encoding. Mine encodes fine.

Hi, I have the exact same problem. I copied a tv show to the HDD, which plays fine with Nero Showtime, but when I transcode it to a dvd to play through the TV the voices progressively get out of sync throughout the show. Some work ok but the majority get worse as the show goes on. Be great if someone could help us both out....A

Dear Kronyk & angel5092,

Can you please clarify when exactly did the problem happen: After converting the videos into dvd compliant format (i.e. encoding), or after the final burning?

I had the same problem with Nero. I burned at a slower speed,2x and everything worked fine.

Thanks scf_au, I have been doing it all in one process, encode and burn directly to the disc, what I will try is encoding it to the HDD and see if that works, and thanks Mal75 I will also try a slower speed too.
