I just bought some TDK 8x DVD+R's from circuit city today because they were on sale. Anyway i checked the media code for them and it said: CMC MAG E01. Isn't media with this code some of the worst quality media they have? By the way would it be good enough to backup PS2 games with?
Thanx,
Joe
TDK media SUCKS~!! don't matter what media ID coding it comes out with, you just happen to get some really poor manufacturer on yours...but, in MY OPINION and MY OPINION only, TDK's own manufactured media isn't ANY better~ w/ the "TTG01/TTG02/TTH01/etc." coding...
i would definitely recommend you go back to circuit city and get your money back...then use the money to buy some DECENT media and you will have much better success with your backups...
look for Verbatim (made in taiwan) in any speed or format, Fuji/Sony (made in japan) 8x DVD+R format for Taiyo Yuden manufactured media in those MIJ spindles...or Hitachi made Maxells (made in japan again) in either 8x dvd-r/dvd+r...those are the only media i suggest spending your hard earned money on...
don't buy Memorex, TDK, HP, Philips, Imation, and other no name store brands with the exception of Office Depot which are Ritek produced in the 8x rated speeds...
Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups
