I'm using a licensed copy of Anydvd & shrink to make a backup copy of a movie and I've now hit this problem twice today. Shrink will analyse and encode the movie but when it starts to burn it tells me my blank dvd-r isn't big enough for this file. This has happened on Mr & Mrs Smith and on Timeline.

Timeline was first, got the error and tried again with the files on disk. It encoded again and still wouldn't burn. I tried 3 seperate new blanks. I rebooted my system and tried again, same error.

i deleted the files from disk and started all over from scratch. It finally burned fine.

I'm now having the sane problem with Smith.

Until today I'd copied 30 or so of my movies w/o any problems. I've used several of these TDK blanks too w/o an issue.

Any ideas as to why?

Mike

You should set the target size in DVDShrinks preferences to 4300. This should solve your issue.

What software are you using to burn your backups with?
What's your burner's model number and firmware rev level?
Have you just recently started using the TDKs?

I did mr & mrs smith and did not have this issue. You can always shrink twice. I got a feeling something else is amiss though.

Cheers.

I'm using Nero to burn with from within Shrink. I've burned about 15 movies onto this batch of TDK w/o a problem. I don't know what the firmware version of my burner is.
