Strange Problem when updating PSP

I'm a v1.5 JAP PSP user. I'd like to update my PSP to v2.0.

I've done everthing told by SONY (copy the EBOOT.PBP file to UPDATE folder in GAME folder, connect the AC Adaptor).

But when I run the Update, the screen went blank! (with the wavy background) and when I pressed X and then O, the PSP reboots.

And, of course the Update file I've downloaded is JAP version. And I've tried USA version, still it didn't work!!!

where did u find 1.5 jap firmware. i cant seem to get one. im sorta in the opposite situation, i want to downgrade it to 1.5

same with me but i found out that it was WAB Version Changer 2.5, because when u patch your PSP it stops u from upgrading!
now im trying to find something that lets me upgrade!
do u have Wab Version Changer?

homebrew for 2.0 needs the 2.0 eboot loader to run anything. Hello world is just for 2.01, does no one read or search anything here
