Hi Welcome to AD.

In DVDShrinks preferences change the Target Size to Custome 4300 and you're good to go.

Cheers. Get there: Edit>Preferences>and on the Preference tab>press down arrow to get to Custom and type in 4300

I used DVDFab Decrypter. Total file was 5.79 GB. When I tried to backup with Shrink, it was too large to include everything. Wound up re-authoring by dragging the movie file and "into the cave" file only; "designing evolution" wouldn't fit unfortunately.

When I used DVDFab Express to backup entire disc. Shrink would not work; even VOB blanker could not fix problem. Hope this helps.

@KEGNFOOL

After you go to reauthor and move the title to the left, you can also open your compression tab and delete all audio except for AC3 5.1 and any subtitles you don't need to reduce your compression and make your ISO image smaller.

You can back up the full DVD if you use VOB blanker after
you use DVD Fab Decrypter.

If you don't use VOB blanker you will see 3533 mb in the
unreferenced Material file in DVD Shrink, this is what is
making it too large. This 3533 mb
is just black screen.
VOB blanker will blank this out.

Download the free 21 day trial of AnyDVD.

Open it. Let the fox head appear in the task tray. Now insert the DVD into the DVD reader. Wait about 30 seconds for the fox head to flash pale and then dark red.

Once this is done, then open DVDShrink and proceed as usual.

Too easy.

The answer to "THE CAVE" is here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/282892 -- I made that mini guide, especially for Newbies or for those that have not made any successful backup yet. Check it out and I GUARANTEE YOU 100% that you'll have a successfully working "full disc" within roughly an hr.

Good luck on following the mini guide.

Because you didn't follwed my guide, therefore you're having trouble with the backup. Apparently, DVDFAB Decrypter did not cracked all of the encrypted ARccOS that was put on the original dvd. Even if you get a successfully ripped via using DVDFAB Decrypter and shrink it with DVD Shrink, the chance is you're more than likely to have either a "black screen" or some messed up chapters. Therefore, in order for you to have a successfully working backup, you'll need to process through PgcEdit as stated in the guide using FixVTS. Then you can proceed with DVD Shrink from there.

Hope this clear things up for you. Good luck!!

@alkohol

what's up buddy? Happy new year to ya...

@KEGNFOOL

Now we are down to some fine tuning, don't burn at more than 4X and use quality media such as Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony, Fuji, Maxell(made in Japan). How much compression did you end up with when you burned, at what speed did you burn, and what brand of media are you using? Another run through DVD Shrink using Deep Analysis and the AEC controls could possibly get rid of the stuttering, pausing, and pixellation you are getting towards the end of the movie. And one more question, did you backup the entire disc menus special features and all or just the main movie?

I used Sonic to Burn the Iso Image to disk. Under option it list burn speed at CD - Max DVD MAx....then the pulldown in them only has 24X So im guessing if its on DVD max its only going to burn at 8X
being that is what my DVD is....Fujifilm DVD+R 8X and I only backed up the main movie...no extra's or anything. If this dosent work Im not gonig to stress over it anymore. Hopefully my next one I will know what to do. Thank you so much for everyones help. Great site. Like one big family here. Awsome how you can get quick response.

@KEGNFOOL

AD is an awesome site and full of very helpful ppl.

I just scanned back through this thread and can't believe that no one has stated not the burn at more than 4X(shame on you alkohol...LOL). The highest quality backups are done at 4X, check out this thread... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544

Not sure about SONIC, I have it but have never used it. Try this free program: http://imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Give it a try, reduce your burn speed and see if you can get a flawless backup.

I too have been having a lot of trouble with this movie. Alkohol, I followed your guide twice using only the reccomended software and while everything went like it said it should when pgcedit finished up and opened the files in DVDShrink the entire main movie is gone and its just extras and menus. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Go and download the free trial of AnyDVD from slysofts website.
All you need is AnyDVD, DVDshrink and Decyrpter to burn.
I think I'm going to have to buy AnyDVD, it works great!
