Can't copy 'Eraserhead'!

It was put out on DVD in 2002, so I thought no problem and thought I could copy it straight from DVD Shrink. Wrong, I received a cyclic read error half way through, then I used DVD DECRYPTER and again about half way through it got stuck and kept on retrying to no avail.

Any ideas/Suggestions?

The CRC error you are getting basically means the disc is unreadable at the point of failure, because of dirt, smudges, scratches etc. Clean the disc thoroughly and retry, if you still get an error and there are no visible scratches you may have a bad press which should be returned for another copy.

Sometimes DVDFab decrypter will get through a really tough disc. You might want to give it a try before returning it. You can download it here, it's free:

I do have DVDFAB, but don't use it often due to it being ineffective (in my limited experience beyond dvd Shrink) when DVD Decrypter has done the job. Had I seen your post prior to returning it, I'd have given it a shot. I'll remember this for next time. Thanks!

Are we sure about the cyclic redundancy error having to do with a bad disc? I was reading on this at http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45339 and it lists this error as the possible result of Sony's ARccOS protection.
