i have a sony vaio laptop with dvd-r drive and a dell desktop with a dvd+-r drive. dvdshrink works great copying dvd's
I just bought a dell inspirion laptop maxed out and it has a dvd+r drive and when I open the dvd in shrink 2.3 like i normally do, I get a copy protection error. what the hell's goin on?
every other person i know uses the same thing i do. dvdshrink 2.3 and nero6. How would dvdshrink not work on this brand new laptop. are they makin the drives different now?
perhaps you are trying to backup a NEWER dvd release that DVD Shrink can't handle to protection scheme...
try AnyDVD, available with a 21-day free trial @ www.slysoft.com, i would def. recommend purchasing it, but try it out for yourself first to see if you like it~
chances are, as far as i am aware of...AnyDVD will handle the new encryption, i haven't had a single one fail on me yet~ :)

There have been recent complaints about Sony using new Copy protection removal blocking software in their computers, so if the inspiron uses Sony components you could have a permanent problem if AnyDVD doesn't do the job.

what you need to do is DISABLE this mediacenter program you are referring to...i've never heard of such a program that if you ALLOW it to start and simply close it out then start DVD Shrink, it would not work...very strange indeed...

hey if u got a inspiron wit a sony drive if its a removeable bay then u can replace the drive i have a inspiron wit nec drive and i have no problems its jus the sony drive thats all
