I burn using dvd shrink and nero....and for some reason i go to my burners properties and i can set it to burn at 4x but when it does burn....it burns at 16x....i keep checking the burners properties and it for some reason is sayin its at 4x but its really burning at 16x.....any suggestions.....

Did you set the burn speed in Nero? or in the burners properties?

That setting is used for burning using XP. Since you're using shrink to burn with Nero, it's nero's write speed that needs to be changed. It's default setting for write speed is max, your burning at 16x because that must be the medias' max burn speed.
