i am using dvd shrink to copy dvds and i just used it twice for two seperate dvds and the backround is louder than the people talking. like the music in the backround is so loud that u can barely hear the people talking. can some1 tell me how to fix this?

sounds like you only kept the AC3 stream and not the 5.1 or DTS. Reburn the flick with 5.1 and or DTS [don't really need DTS] and check the diff. Doesn't bother me, I usually have the surround sound on anyway, I like to remove the 5.1 and DTS to relieve from compressing if I don't have to.

where do i go in DVD Shrink to put 5.1 or DTS in it, i went to preferences and theres only AC3, ac3/Lpcm, Lcpm or all types

Open Shrink
Click Reauthor
Browse to your movie [Saved on the HD or mounted on specific drive]
Select the movie only
Drag the movie from DVD Browser into DVD Compilation Window [From the right side to the left side]
Go back to the right side after the analyze is complete and select "Compression" settings
Now you can see what the audio streams are and the subpicture titles
This'll better define what your streams are set at

i did that and it said ac3 and 5.1 and so i burned it again and now its like the peoples voices are echoed and the backround music is still louder. think maybe its the dvds casue these are really cheap dvds??

Ah, tis could be true. media is indeed an intricate part of the process. However, I don't know specifically. The echo thing is wierd. It could very well be the AC3. Have you tried without AC3 and just 5.1?
