I recently purchased Dvd-r and Dvd+r Maxell media and noticed they are all made in taiwan.

I'm just wondering if there are Maxell 8x Speed that are made in japan.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, there are, I have gotten them at Office Depot several times. Great media. The MITs are good too. They code out Ritek R03. Good quality.

Cheers.

guess Ritek is back on the move again...been lotta Ritek bashing lately...but, those MIT Maxells should both be DECENT...:) Ritek's on both formats, 8x DVD-R or 8x DVD+R (RitekG05/RitekR03 respectively) or even possibly RICOHJPNR02 on the 8x DVD+R, while RARE, it's not IMPOSSIBLE~ :)

Yeah, I had noticed the bashing that ritek has been taking of late, but hadn't experienced it with the Maxell +R's in 8x format myself. I wouldn't be shy about buying them again, but now that I have burned with TY's...They're just too sweet.

Cheers.

The Ritek-R03 are sweet! They are performing up along with my tys and the maxell hitachi in my benqs.

There's definitely hitachi maxells floating around that are made in Japan.I've been getting them on my full hub inkjet printables.

Office Depot has a sale on maxells this week. Spindles of 100 for $30
Most likely riteks?. 30 cents each is still too high for the maxell riteks. Maxell hitachi,30 cents each - well worth it.

I was getting Office Depot +8x riteks for 20-25 cents each.Way cheaper than the very same maxell riteks.I'm still waiting for that next sale of buy 1-get 2 spindles free!

I know office depot/walmart/and staples will vary on which maxells they get in. One sale they may get hitachi ,next sale could be the riteks.A lot of times they'll have both,so you'll have to go through the spindles to find those sweet hitachis.
