Okay this seems to be a common problem. The sensor switch (where tool D would cover) on my v14 ps2 is broken off. This is due to the fact that tool D would not fit, I pressed too hard to get it snug and it popped loose. Now from the look of things, I believe it just popped off. The sensor is still intact nicely it just came loose from the motherboard. There seems to be 4 silver squares on the ps2 and the sensor that need to line up. I wondering should I solder the sensor back to the board? and if so how? Has anybody had to do this before? What did you do to fix it?

I'm talking about the sensor switch in the back of the ps2 that determines whether the lid is open or not.

Anyway don't worry about it. And if anybody else has this problem the solution is simple, difficult to do, but simple. First your going to have to unscrew everything and get the motherboard loose from the ps2. This is because a metal piece is way too close to the soldering points and will cause a problem getting your soldering iron in the small space. Then all you have to do is do a surface mount lining up the four tabs with the board and it's fixed. Nothing too difficult, you might want to be decent with soldering though.

I have the exact same problem, did you solder the switch back on or did you just solder the 4 point together to create a circuit???
