Hi All, looking for a little guidance on checking my DVDs. I have the Nero CD/DVD speed check tool, but it says "Drive does not support this function", when I hit the start for disc quality. My drive is an HP 300n (OEM), which I believe is made by NEC (1100a). Firmware version is 3.20.
Is the NERO Tool, not compatible maybe , or is there someway to enable the drive to work with the NERO program. Hope I'm in the right forum, apologies to all if not. Any assistance/guidance appreciated. Thanks.

Lol. Same thing with me. My NEC ND-3520a isn't supported. I also tried DVDInfoPro which also seems pretty popular around here, but unfortunately, same problem. :(

Guess we're both in the same boat, Just finished fiddling with DVD info pro myself. As you say, same result.

I have the NEC 3550a and DVDinfo pro works with this model. You might want to check and see if there is a firmware available from liggy and dees that might assist you.

Thanks, I can get the code ok with a few different programs. The only real issue I have is reading the quality of the disc. That's what the drive doesn't seem to support. Maybe 'cause it's locked on a region ?.
Anyway, thanks again.

My LG wouldn't work with DVDinfo Pro either. So I bought the NEC and can do the scans now.
