Look around at various prior threads with search function. I think what you may be having a problem with may relate to media and burn speeds. C--p media gives c--p results. Stick with good media. Use search function again to get an idea of what are the best media. I like Taiyo Yuden and have also had good luck with Verbatim and TDK. Stick to japanese brands. Watch for sales at trusted on line places such as Newegg.com and Supermediastore.com. Also slow burn speed down to 4X and see if makes a difference.

To err is human, to really screw up.....use a computer.

Another culprit for skipping and freezing is paper labels. Not recommended as they can cause issues if they are not centered perfectly. Most here advise against them totally. I use a sharpie.

Make sure that you set your target burn size to 4300 as well. Burning too close to the edge of the media can cause these issues as well.

Cheers.

Mesa101,

Hello I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth :-) The main problem is more than likely the brand of blank DVD media you are using as rn73 has already pointed out. I just wanted to chime in because the importance of good quality media should always be your top priority! If you use better media I am sure your troubles would all be washed away.

And the answers are:

<> you're using cheap/crap media
<> you're burning too fast

To solve the problem:

<> use high quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo/datalife plus" and Maxell (mij by Hitachi)
<> burn at 4X or no higher than 8X
<> make sure burner's firmware is up-to-date
<> no multi-tasking

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
