If your so sure of yourself then why dont you tell him how to do it. This is a forum to help others and that isnt helping much.

LOL I work in a large Hotel and the other day a man ran up to me, frantic, and asked ?Do you know where the restroom is?? I said Yep I do? and turned and walked away?

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading; The few who learn by observation;
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves...

OK allmighty GOD
Since you cant be kind enough to tell them how to do it unless they specificly ask in thier thread how to do.
Then ill ask HOW DO YOU DO IT?
I mean give me a break do you really think he is just asking for a yes or no answer when he ask
Quote: Can I copy a dvd that has copy protect to the dvd recorder?
If the answer is yes and you know how to do it then tell him or give him a link to a guide that shows him how to do it.
and im the 1 you say is being an ***hole?

What do you mean a role model
Use a damn scrambler to make the copy you can buy them at best buy. They range from about 20 to 100 bucks hook it through the rca jacks. And when you guys say something can't be done make sure your right because it makes you look like total fuccin idiots. Yes it can be done. I know because i've done it. And as far as a role model i'm a chemical engineer bit#hes i am a role model. Next time check your fuccin selves.

First off I never said it couldnt be done. I only stated that if you knew how to do it then tell him.
Second if your a chemical engineer then you would think you could get your point across better then using words like (fuccin, bit#hes and check your fuccin selves)
So can I ask another question without you getting all defensive?
Was it that hard to give an explination of how to do it? Look at all the time and post that where wasted, just because you couldn?t be courteous enough to help the guy out in the first place by telling him how to go about doing it.
Sorry if you think I was being an A**hole. I was just saying that a an answer "yes you can do it" isnt enough when somone ask if you can or can't do somthing.
Most should know if someone ask a question and it is possible to do what they want to do then you should tell them how to do it.
I have never worked with a Standalone DVD burner so I wouldnt know if it could be done or not. But would have been informative if I had gotten an explination from you above in your first post on how to do it. That way if I came across someone asking the same question I could help them out.

sometimes this forum thrives on a little lively banter and a sense of humor, this is the way your first post would have tended to lead me! and that aspect is what I think larryjie was responding to!
this is uncalled for and a worldly man like your self should not be baited so easily I didn't see any reason to get mad!

this world must be in desperate need of chemical engineers so as to employ someone w/ a third grade grasp on spelling and the temper of a 6 month old! I feel sorry for who ever models their lives to conduct themselves the way you have!
@ Tornado
sorry to have interupted but this is something that should never have happened!
I should think it would be ok to re-post this problem maybe in advanced section! I don't think any one would mind the double post under these circumstances!

@ L8ter
I agree a little lively banter and a sense of humor is good every once in a while.
I have been Guilty of that myself.
When I uasly post a comment like what ChE2k6 did. I would then make another post under with some helpfull advice on how to do it. The site should be fun and informative but also can get fustrting when you cant find a soultion to your problem.
But back to the question above and the soultion provided by ChE2k6. I understand you can use a scrambler type device on VHS or DVD for the macro-vision tpye copy protection. but that dosent take out the encryption type copy protection on a DVD does it?

[ Tornado ]
Yes: you can copy anything with a stand alone unit, [The Right One ]
Black Boxes, descramblers, etc. are a waste of time and money. They may work sometimes for some forms of CP but not very often. The computer route will work and can give you an exact copy [if wanted]but can also present problems, cost, etc. and is a hassel. A stand alone unit is far more easy. and works very well.
I don't know what recorder unit you have. You may have to replace it.You already have a player. That is needed in conjunction with the recorder.
Most dobbing will be in real time. [Examble] Dub your purchased VHS tape to DVD. A program on the tape 1hr 48min long will take 1hr 48min
to record and so on. Belive me a PC will take that long and more
PM me if you want
