Is it possible to "erase" specific files from a multisession burnt cdrw?

It's a CDRW so yes you can. I've accidentally done it with a CDR however even though I could no longer see the file on the disk, the free space on the disk did not change, as you would expect since its a write once only. What software do you use?.
