hey I'm trying to burn DVD's and I bought 100 DVD's from ebay. The problem is when I put the DVDs in burner it is not recognized. I try to just burn some regular files to it and it says there is no disk HELP please!!! the DVD's are Ridata 8x DVD +R and that is compatable with my burner.

I would highly advise not buying discs off ebay - too many fake ones out there. Plus there's several good reputable internet sites that sell the genuine stuff at good prices like http://supermediastore.com (us)
You should id those discs and see what your actually got. Here's a link to a prog:

I'm not saying all ebay discs are bad/fake and maybe all you need is a firmware update but there's been quite a few members here who have posted horror stories about the media they bought off ebay.

Is it probable that there is not enough space on a 4.7GB DVD+R to burn a regular DVD i.e. Wedding Crashers

Firmware teaches your burner what to do with the media - newer media and what the burn speeds are. Since newer and faster media comes out it's best to keep your burner's firmware up to date so that it knows what to do. It's like a communicator.
The link for the program above will list the make and model of your burner and give your current firmware version. You can either check the manufacturers site to see if there is a later version or this site:
