I have a
I actually called Optus and got a release code from them (#pw+14digits+1#), but when I entered my full code I was unable to enter the last # to complete the process.
I called Nokia and they think it's because I'm not on the Optus network at the moment. (I'm in Indonesia, not receiving any network bars.)
When selecting a network manually, three come up (only when the optus card is in, but not other times), but none can be selected.
This is one theory as to why the final # isn't allowed in.
Anyone with ideas?
Otherwise, the only thing I can think to do is to go to Nokia in Denpasar - something I neither want to do, nor am I sure I have the time to.
Thanks for any help, ideas, or suggestions.

Start with number 7 first. if that doesnt work try number 1,then number 5...remember to keep the simcard in of the network you want to change to. I tried to unlock my phone without the sim in,as advised by so many, but it worked straight away when i left the sim in =)
Also remember you only have 3 attempts (although some advise this is 5) =)

I rang Optus and over the landline I went over it with the operator a few times (unsucessfully obviously) - does that mean I've gone over the limit?
BTW what's with the Nokia 1110 - seems like the only one with unlocking problems.

I think unlocking Tracfones will do you no good. You will not be able to use another carrier's SIM card in the phone. The best way is to get it reflashed/unlocked (Re-programed) so that you can use the T-Mobile or Cingular SIM cards in them. Once you get them reflashed, you will NOT be able to use the Tracfone SIM card in it.

We do get problems with Auzi Phones in general.
What exactly is the problem you are having?
It is useful to practice entering the code in your mind several times as you only have a second or two to enter the last #.
I have found that writing down the code in groups of three in very large print helps.

If you know the risks, try this ONCE and ONLY ONCE and let us know if it works. You have only 5 tries and then it will be hard locked. After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It should still work on your Network so no big loss.

After the phone boots up, press #
Press * 3 times fast for (p) \
Press * 4 times fast for (w) IMPORTANT

Sorry about the lack of information there. The problem is a locked phone to the telstra network and I need the unlock key.
I figured out why the last # would not work. I was attempting a key from a generator on a website which was wrong. It did not have the right length of digits, and hence why it would not let me put in the final #.
So if anybody can give the unlock key that would be most appreciated.
