I've been copying for about a year now useing anydvd, shrink, and Neroexpress to burn with no problems untill these last couple of anydvd updates. Now I can't seem to get my copies to work in my laptop or in all the same players as befor. If I turn off anydvd it seems to work but, than I just wasted my $$$ and need to do a ton more work to copy my discs. Does anyone know if there is a setting or something that I may have wrong making my discs not play in my pc when useing anydvd???? thanks

MikeOck,
Welcome to the forum. If I understand what you are trying to do you are trying to copy a copy or are you trying to copy and original movie.? If copying a copy then turn AnyDVD off in taskbar and use DVDDecrypter to make and burn the image file to DVD
When using AnyDVD you might try playing the movie for about 30 seconds and then turn AnyDVD on. Click on the foxes head on the desktop and then the taskbar should have a clear foxes head appear and then it will turn red. If I did not understand what you were trying to do post back

Sorry I wasn't to clear. I'm Copying from the original thats why i'm so confused. It's worked fine till the receint updates as a matter of fact. It's been going so well for me that my friends no longer visit the local video store cause they know we can watch it here and if not I have the back up that they can take home for a day or two.

try updating ur firmware, if that dosent help then just BACK UP your DVDs the way i do it, with DVDShrink and imageburn or Nero7. of corse the anti piracy laws that have been instated in the country where After Dawn is hosted may prohibit u from downloading one or more of the programs above.

Starrift, Thanks but, thats what I'm currently doing. I'm just running AnyDVD in the background for thoughs tricky dvds that don't like DVD Shrink. So for the easier dvds I can turn off any dvd but, as befor, its a waste of $$ and than I can't back up all the movies I buy.

What is the question?? AnyDVD is not a player it?s a decrypter so you can make backups of protected discs..

Are you having trouble playing your backups?
What Media are you using?
What speed are you burning at?
What does the playback DO, freeze, skip, just WHAT?
A little info would bring a lot more answers?..

Wow why would you pull a quote out of the middle of a thread and start hacking at it. Out of context and without reading the rest of the prior info I already posted I was calling myself an idiot but, wait sorry bad long........ night at work your try'n to help and I'm an ass..... Let me start over and compose myself........So copy problems yes.....as stated in orig. message...I've been copying for about a year now useing AnyDVD, dvdshrink, and Neroexpress to burn with no problems untill these last couple of AnyDVD updates. Now I can't seem to get my copies to work in my laptop or in all the same players as befor.
Useing the same media i've been using for years fuji-r been haveing great luck with them...
burn at 4 or 8 times depends on my mood or what i'm burning
PC doesn't recognize disc in tray... just spins like a top and nothing happens... some times I'll get the hour glass but still nothing
in dvd players error cannot read disc... hope that info helps cause I'm at a loss...

I've been burning with no problems for at least a year and AnyDVD updated like 2 or 3 times in the lats 2 weeks and since the new updates with AnyDVD running in the back ground my back ups are giveing me trouble.... like I stated befor I can turn it off for the easier discs and they work for me in every thing so thats why I think its an AnyDVD setup problem.....

I read all the posts and couldn?t make heads or tails out of any of them so, I figured just go to ground zero and maybe something could be pulled out of it?;)

If you?re not having trouble with the simple to copy discs, then maybe it?s just the discs with the new RipGaurd protection on them. What are the titles of the movies you?re having trouble with?

Even though you are using the same discs, sometimes the media codes change and the drive will not recognize them without a firmware update.

Use this link to check and see if your firmware is current or needs updating: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

Type the model of your burner into the search box and hit search. If there is an update, download it to your desktop and doubleclick on it and it should self install or provide you with the instructions to install it.

I think from your description of the problem that this may be your issue.

Cheers.

Copy #1 had AnyDVD on used DVD Shrink and burned with Nero... disk plays in half the tv top players in the house and won't play in lap top or desk top so ???? media and human error do it again the exact same way and boom same stuff....hmmmmmmmm remember makeing 2 or 3 updates to AnyDVD so I turn off AnyDVD and than shrink and Nero burn bingo cpy works fine in every player in the house and in the laptop and pc...hmmmmm so I do this acpuople more times and the copies work fine so I really think I may have change something that I shouldn't have or anydvds update change something.... my big thing is that I whatch 99% of all my copies on my Laptop and now nonof the new burns will play on it.... thank for all the advice...

Cannot see how AnyDVD would give any problems on the quality of the burn. It has nothing to do with it..
Therefore I?m leaning towards Media.. I never liked fuji have always been a TY or Verb man myself, but that?s just my opinion.
If I were you I would examine the Media trail. Try different ones, burn at a low speed, like 4x maximum and just see how it works out. Process of trial and error..
edit: It's probably not so much the programs you are using as the Media and the burn speed that really counts..

Just out of curiosity, what drive and firmware version are you using?

MikeOck,
You might try d/l DVDinfoPro ( free version has adverts but it is free). After d/l do a CRC Test on the burned disk to see if there are any errors. What is really odd is the dvd will play in some of the players but it does not on the computer.
