DVD Recorder with digital Audio Inputs?

I have been searching for sometime for a DVD recorder that offers more than the standard RCA audio inputs... While most offer digital output from prerecorded DVDs, I have found none that provide the ability to record audio in multiple formats to include optical or other digital inputs or for that matter... multi channel inputs ie. Dolby 5.1, 6.1,or 7.1... Have any of you found otherwise???
