I am trying to backup The Pianist dvd
I used DVD shrink - no problem
I used DVD Decrypter with Nero 6 - no problem
When I put the disc in my dvd player it will not play and ejects.
I haven't had this problem before
Can anyone help me out here?

What brand of media did u use? Verbatim/TY/Ritek/Ridata and Maxell (MIJ) are preferred.

What speed did u burn at? 4X is the safest.

WHat type of disc did u use? Stick to -R unless your burner has the option to booktype/bitset +Rs.

I used fuji +R 8x
My burner is a LG Super Multi 5163D
I had it at 8X speed

I'm still learning, what does " booktype/bitset +Rs " mean?

Quite a few dvd players will not play +R discs. Some burners have the ability to change +R discs so dvd players see them as DVD-Rom.

First thing to do is check to see if the LG 5163D has an option to burn +R as dvd-rom. Try checking out CDFreaks.com for more info on your burner or google LG 5163D booktyping or bitsetting. If it doesn't support booktyping/bitsetting then you should stick to -R discs. There are plenty of posts on here with booktyping step by step instructions.

I'd also advise you to burn @ 4x instead of 8x. That may be an issue.

While you're at CDFreaks.com u can see if your burner has the lastest firmware too.

I tried it again at 4X and with a disc brand called Smartbuy that I've never had a problem with and it worked. I am not sure which was the culprit, hopefully it was the burn speed because I just 100 FujiFilm discs. lol

My dvd player is compatable with +R so that is not an issue and I bought the " LG super Multi " burner because it is supposed to have every media format, I figured it would give me more options.
