The Afterdawn update said that nothing about the Forums was changed, and that discussion of tools like DVD Decrypter was still allowed, but where did the DVD Decrypter forum go? It's just gone.

Also, what happened to DVD Decrypter itself? There's no more home page for it, and some other download sites say that Macrovision is the new owner of it??? What happened?

Here is a forum for DVDdecrypter:

http://forum.digital-digest.com/forumdisplay.php?f=79

You can still download the .exe file at http://mrbass.org/dvdrip/

Cheers.

Thanks! I'm still curious though about why Afterdawn removed the forum here when they said no changes would be made, and we are still supposed to be able to discuss it. Was there any announcement made about the reason?

Also, what is "Ripping RipGard"? One user's signature line says that DVD Decrypter is now Ripping RipGard, but I can't find any reference to any such program on any forum or Google.

I've never heard of it, but then I haven't had much cause to look. Someone here will respond regarding the decrypter forum, but I have no knowledge of it here at AD.

You would think you could search the archives and find it.

Anyway, happy burning.

Cheers.

Ripguard if i'm not wrong is sorta like Sony's ARccOS protection. It was on movies like Valiant, The Cave, etc. If i'm not mistaken. It's not a big deal anymore because AnyDVD takes care of it.

There more info here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/160273

"ARccOS? is the first and only available digital and dynamic DVD-Video copy control which effectively prevents unauthorized DVD copying on PC. ?Our customers are pleased to finally have found a copy control solution for DVD-Video that protects their content successfully."
HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!
