Hi, I was wondering how I can encode avi to dvd to be able to select different subs. Right now I have a video in two parts along with .sub and .idx. I can't really use AVI2DVD since it doesn's support .sub. The subs I have are in English and Chinese, so what program would I need inorder to encode the video to be able to select the two different subs?

It isn"t the encoder that will allow you to select Subs it all has to do with the DVD authoring program you are useing and to add Multiple Subtitles you will need a Pretty High end DVD Authoring Program Like "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" and you will need to encode your AVI file to a DVD Compliant MPEG-2 file First before you author the DVD.....

So First you would encode your AVI file to a DVD compliant MPEG-2 file...
Then you would Load the MPEG-2 file and the Sub Files into DVDLab Pro and you would Simply add the Sub files to your Project and Create a Menu were you can select which subtitle you want to watch and you can also add Chapters and Scene selections and Motion menu"s ect...when you are Done it will Format it all into a "Video_TS" Folder which you can then Burn to DVD in "DVD video" mode.....

Good Luck

Ok thanks, so DVDLab Pro will support .sub and .idx files? what encoder would you recommend for AVI to dvd mepg2? I would like to encode the DVD in the highest quality possible... so would I focus more on finding a good AVI to mpeg2 encoder or will the DVDLab pretty much turn it into high enough quality for the DVD?

Well the IDX File is Not a Sub File, it is an Index file of Some sort and I don"t think it is Needed....

Yes DVDLab Supports Sub Files (Up to 6) but it doesn"t have a Mpeg encoder so you have to use an encoder Like TMPGEnc to encode your AVI files to Mpeg-2/DVD Format and then Load them and the Subs into DVDLab and add your Menu"s and Scene selections ect....

Cheers
