Hi guys, wondering if you can help at all, ive downloaded a thousand (a few) programs now and the psp movie creator seems to be the best but im decrypting my original dvds just to a single file, then converting to avi from that only trouble is it doesnt support the sound? i know i dont need to decrypt but the files come out alot smaller when i do. ive noticed that you said use psp video 9 but i cant find it anywhere, ive made all the folders ok and it is a doddle, its just getting the right software
any ideas

Hi Guys, well ive done it several times and i think im missing something, its working fine the psp video 9 but ive tried two settings after reading all threads and the files are still coming out at just over 900mb? can i compress mp4s or do i have to alter the settings to something special

Uhh , Not so shure on compression of MPEG-4 , But yea alteration of setting should be able to give you some type of size differance ..
What is the type of movie file your trying to convert ?

well ive ripped charlie and the chocolate factory from the original with DVD Decrypter into a single VOB file, its about 5gig to start just finished trying the pspvideo9 again with a different setting and still the same size! will keep trying i suppose till i get it right?
thanks for the reply, maybe i should try a different dvd, and use DVD2One to shrink it down then rip that with DVD Decrypter to a single file and see what the quality is like
will let you know if it works

just wanted to let you know that the willy wonka dvd, nor the second dvd that i tried (beetlejuice)would work. they ripped fine into a single file with DVD Decrypter, however beetlejuice had no sound on the talkin and willy wonka was you were right too big to start with.
However i have done a couple of others and they worked fine with decrypter and pspvideo9 and they come out at about 450mb
i tried Nero recode but it comes out pixelated all the time? so i will stick to what works for me
ive downloaded some mp4s and have altered the name of the file as theres no thm file but will try that tomorrow
