Can I turn off Windows Sevurity Alerts tray icon or uninstall Windows firewall completely?

Go to your control panel --- click on the Security Icon -- on the window that opens up -- tick the Off (Not recommended)-- click OK

In your Tray you will get a warning from the RED Shield there --- Click it -- a screen will open -- click recommendations -- and Place a check in the "I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself" box. click Ok.

Windows will give you another screen confirming it will not monitor your firewall setting anymore -- click OK..
