Ok, I have a backup of kingdom hearts 2 (burned on 16x TDK at 8x speed using DVD decryptor.)
1. I put in swap magic CD 2.0 (I lost DVD disc)
2. I swap in for swap magic CD 3.0 (which supposedly loads DVDs)
3. I put in my larger game for TOC.
4. I put in Kingdom hearts 2, select NTSC and start...
5. I get red screen...
This is my first time doing this, any help?

Also, do CD+R discs work? (I tried with and without)

Try burning at a lower speed (either 2.4x or 4x), 8x is way overboard.
Also, you can only use CD-R if the actual game disc is a CD-R.

Have you gotten any other games you have burned on a DVD+R to work? I heard PS2 doesn't like them. Hell, my Memorex DVD+R 's can't even be read by the PS2.
If you haven't gotten any to work, you might want to buy some high quality DVD-R media.

I've tried with and without DVD+R, and TDK is high quality right? Which I used and get a red screen.

Depends on what the media ID is of the TDK. Run DVDInfo or Nero CD-DVD Speed to see the manufacturer.
I want to know if you have gotten any other games to successfully work with the same media.

I don't have any other backups, I guess I could make one of a game I already have and try that (but none of them are imports like KH2.)
I've gotten swap magic to load real games before, so thats not the problem... Is it possibly a dirty laser?

A laser is just a beam of light. :) But I think you mean the lens.
Well, if you can play regular games just fine, then a dirty lens is probably not the problem.

I managed to get one of the copies past the red screen but then It was just black, is that better or worse?

Well I'm ripping a game to my HD currently, just wondering, is it possible the game isn't compatible with my version?

Well maybe, or maybe not.
I'm curious, what game is it that you are having trouble with?

Kingdom Hearts 2
I had it on my HDadvance, but unfortunately after one point in the game it doesn't work with the hard drive.

Well my copy worked flawlessly using the same method and media.
I already checked the disc if it needed to be rebuilt, and it wasn't too big and it didn't have dummy files in it.
I cleaned the laser as well.

What's this TOC 'refresh' thing you guys are talking about? I just got my swapmagic the other day but I have bad DVD+R 's, so i'm waiting until Monday till I get my Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 's.

Well trying a different TOC didn't work (tried every game I owned.)
I downloaded swap magic 3.6 dvd... which I had to rebuild because of a dummy file, I put it on a CD and tried to boot it using both swap magic 2.0 and 3.0, but for some reason it would go to a black screen as soon as the title screen loaded up.

Ok new problem, game runs... but extremely slow, search didn't yield much. I used a DVD+R disc (and not a high media quality I believe.) I burned at 2x.
