I usually am always listening to music... and whenever i encode or even import a CD on itunes my music im listening to gets all cracked up and space between the audio.. so that it is very non fluent... i dont know how else to explain it but it seems like i need to set a setting to make the process of doing these things (importing/encoding) slower and taking less of my computers usefulness.. haha. is there a way i can set a preference say on a control panel or whatever, to make music listening possible even when doing these things? thank you for reading and please respond

An even better fix would be to examine your computer and see what you have (CPU, RAM, Sound Card[if you have one]) and make an improvement to your system...

It sounds like to me that your system resourses are tapped out to ripping and you could fix this by upgrading to more RAM. Not only would this probally fix your problem but also be useful in the long run...Ram is CHEAP right now..I would suggest going to http://www.newegg.com to purchase the ram..I would also suggest Crucial as the brand...

If you will post what your computer is I can tell if you need to upgrade...

yah so i bought my computer custom made off www.ibuypower.com . it has Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99GHz, 512 MB RAM
i have no idea what ram actually does.. nor do i konw if i have a sound card
