Ah, Valentines Day is coming soon. My favorite time of the year. I get things from girls without asking, and usually get what i want! lol but this year theres sumthin very special happening! Yes, Grandia III will come out in the U.S. on Valentines Day! Now to convince someone like Rory to send it to me... lol i will have to buy them roses or something, though as long as i get my game, i dnt really give a shit. I heard the games on a Dual Layer though, so it might be hard transferring it to my PS2 Hard Drive to play it...

Dragon Quest is quite compelling, the plot is quite simple though, no where near as serious as a Final Fantasy's. Vaan'll be alrite, I dnt think he'll be like Tidus that much, all characters have a different personality. Oh yeah, and Tetsuya Nomura didnt design him, so hes going to be in a compeletely different style to Tidus. The characters around him (the supporting cast)are different too, so in intelligence, he will act different around different people, like what happened in FFX, with Tidus and some of the other characters (it was funny when Tidus tried to talk to Kimahri) At the End of the day, if Vaan has a good voice actor, then he will be portrayed as a good character. Its all about how hes portrayed on screen, cos ur gonna be spending like up to 100 hours with him ya know lol

Yeh have to agree with you on that one can't really compare him to any of the others as he's the only one with voice acting can't really include cloud in advent children to that one yet as he'll sound completely different in Japanese as to American/English.
I'v done 130 hours on DQVIII and nearing the end yet still going. Like one of them games thats really really addictive yet getting to the point where I just wanna finish it! Very good game and crammed full of side missions, (exactly what you can you expect from square-enix) Definately a must have! :)

Ps Wouldn't say the story grips you as much but it is just as addictive as any FF game.

That football vid really stinks when your a Leeds Utd supporter born and bred

I have come to uphold Kefka's right as king of the Final Fantasy Villains! Why may you ask? Well put simply, Kefka is a TRUE villain. There were no wrongs that he felt he was avenging, he was not a tragic figure, or a misunderstood man. He was just a truly evil bastard. Hell, he poisoned a City State's water supply for no apparent reason, even when his own men were held in it's prison. He kills allies and foes alike and blows up the world crafting it's remnants into one of his own completely warped land of insanity.

Also, if you can rock Clown Clothes and Make-up, while STILL being a badass, not a sad-ass, then hell he MUST be awesome. Plus, his Boss Art is quite possibly the most awesome thing to behold. You can do a full scale analysis on it and then write a 5 page paper with the results.

His laugh, theme and just persona reverberates villain. The only person who can come close to his villainhood is maybe Gauron from Full Metal Panic and I guess Mr. Gates.

Edit: *Dueling Banjos* Squeal like a pig!

Signature? What signature!? Oh wait...I actually have one
now.

Love them Deliverance references lol. I just heard Lance Bass was signed on to be the voice of Vaan in FFXII. Justin Timberlake will be the main villain, and the end battle is a dance off between the former band mates. "Bye Bye Bye" "Gay Gay Gay." I heard there's even an alternate ending where President Bush legalizes gay marriage and the two former bandmates tie the knot. Gives new meaning to the song "Pop" ay?

rreeeeeeeeeeeewwiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnndd.....

how can you get tired of the ff series? classic game at its best! Haven't really been a fan of RPGs, mostly of action games and sports games but guys...... come on! We're talking about the leader of RPGs... the standard of all role playing games. :)

To half of you, Blasphemy!! How dare you talk bad about the FF series!!!
Anyway, i think FF has such a reputation that it can never die. Plus, Square-enix makes like 3/4 of all the good RPG's that are on PS2/PS so i dont think they will ever lose their grip on the market. In my opinion every FF is good, notably FFVII and FFX, FFX-2 is pretty good to, it kinda fills the gap you get after yunas final speech in FFX. Cant wait for FFXII, i bet it will be an awesome game, they could probably reveal nothing about it until a launch day and still outsell a new Halo game.

The FF series is good. I just liked it better before it was so mainstream. Since FFVII, it's been a mixed bag. FFVIII-was excellent, FFIX-okay, FFX-excellent, FFX-2-no comment. It used to be about plot, depth, and character development. Now it's about 5 minute long summon spells. Square has to prove to me that they can still make quality RPG's. FFX is 4 years old now. In my opinion, that's their last stellar game. The DQ series was originally an Enix liscense. They were the only company that could compete with square in sales. In Japan, Enix surpassed square with sales with the DQ series. It was a national holiday in Japan whenever they'd release a new DQ game (seriously for some of the older DQ game's, people would get off work for the day). I know everybody will disagree with me and blast me on this. I don't watch reality TV, don't accept everything I'm told, and I don't think recent FF games are on par with the early games in the series.

Tokijin, don't be quick to blast Square-Enix as a whole. There are different teams in the company that make the different games. For instance, FFXII was handed to Development Team 4, rather than Nomuras
Development Team 1 who did FFVII, most of FFVIII and FFX. And to my knowledge, only FFX-2 released after FFX. After that, Square-Enix have been mostly publishing games. This in a way means they have shit-all to do with them. Sure they've released a few more games, but their major franchises like Dragon Quest was developed by Level 5. Grandia III was still developed by GameArts, Square-Enix just published. There was Star Ocean, which was a pretty good game. Drakengard was alrite. Kingdom Hearts was brilliant. There were probly a few more, but im not really arguing a case so i cant be arsed stating them. I've got a feeling that they're going to make at least a few more "stellar games" before they die out.

Kefka was a brilliant villian, through and through the best in ANY FF Game (bar Sephiroth.)

May just be your opinions, and these are mine. Everyones entitled to their own. Though i like thinking mine are right lol even though they probably arent. My mind says to me that Square Enix still make hella good games.

Ah, a correction about Grandia III. In a previous post I said it would on a DVD9. However, i've just remembered that the actual game will be on 2 DVD5's, so those with Hard Drives like me need not worry if importing the game from the U.S (unless your from the U.S, then it wont mattah anyway.)

God i hope the do a remake of FFVII on PS3. I've just been watching advent children and its made me want to play it again! But arrgghh damn advancing technology and graphics, it makes it less fun to play PS1 games that look a lot crappier. I wonder how that FFVII petition is going...

i agree man.. tho wud ther b a point? i no thers the obvious tht they'll be voices n way better graphics, instead of low pixels and written text.. but we all loved ff7 for wot it was so why change it? is te other side of the arguement..

dnt think a ff7-2 wud suffice either.. jus wudnt b the same..

Hmmmm.... i suppose they could extend the storyline in some way. They could even go to after everything and into the advent children storyline. With all the extra capacity of the PS3 and its media im sure they could add a lot in and still keep it close to the original game.

this an email you get if you ask s,e if they are going to remake ff7

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Customer Support,

We regret to inform you that we do not have any kind of access to any additional
information at this time. Nor do we have any information on what other
resources might have that information. The Final Fantasy VII Tech Demo was
strictly a demo to demonstrate the capabilities for the upcoming PlayStation 3
and there is no official word if it will be remade exclusively for that next
generation console.

yes FF has gone down hill since 6,altho 7 and 9 were good enough to keep me entertained,FF8,10 and 10by2 were just odd/off side stories that I didnt care much for.. ,for me the gamepaly has been agervateing or worse (FF8 and FFX beign the msot annoying ones) I hope in FF12 they bring back the soild fun gamepaly equpiment and magic that made FF great.
